Last 2019, The Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf®, in partnership with GMA Kapuso Foundation, rebuilt dreams in Marawi by providing upcycled chairs and tables to three public elementary schools in the city.

Since 2018, the Rebuild Marawi Project by GMA Kapuso Foundation has already rebuilt and rehabilitated two schools with a total of 10 classrooms and 20 gender-sensitive restrooms, and is still in the process of building and rehabilitating more schools.

The Rebuild Marawi Project was peace-making project that needed constant help from benefactors, no matter the amount of the donation.

Our community was able to donate by adding Php 1 or more on top of their in-store purchases at the nearest The Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf®. Proceeds went go directly to raising funds for upcycled chairs and tables for the students and teachers of Marawi City.

The tables and chairs provided by the Rebuild Marawi Project were made of 100% single-use plastic waste. Instead of the waste making its way into the environment, it went into the production of furniture for these rehabilitated classrooms.

We did all these to help rebuild their city and their dreams, one cup at a time.
