Stories of Gratitude

So, I had to be hospitalized last April due to intense pain, persistent loose BMs (40x in 12 hours), nausea, frequent vomiting, & possible dehydration. I was seen by 2 doctors that both prescribed me meds and sent me home. I kept crying while I was home because I didn’t know what to do. I’ve taken all the required meds, gave it time, but nothing.

One my third try, I was admitted. The nurse at that time kept assuring me that they’ll do what they can to stop the pain. I had to travel to the restroom on a wheelchair and even fell on the floor once when i tried walking on my own. She assisted me the whole time, gave me small compliments, and was ever so kind to my dad who was with me.

She’s been working for who knows how long, she kept adjusting/adding tapes around her gloves, she was wearing layers of clothing/PPE but she was always smiling at me, she kept saying how glad she was when I was no longer pale, she was cheering me on when I was about to finish my 2nd bag of dextrose.

I’m so thankful to you, Nurse Shaira! I hope we can meet again (not as your patient sana) and tell you how thankful I am for your kindness and empathy amidst the current situation.
