In the latter part of October to the early days of November 2020, all eyes were on the Philippine news as Typhoon Quinta, Typhoon Rolly, and Typhoon Ulysses, the world’s strongest typhoons, consecutively hit different provinces in the country.
The unexpected flooding in certain areas forced many to evacuate their homes, leaving their belongings behind. As the floods subsided, many families returned only to find wreckages to their homes, while others were left severely damaged by the typhoon. Up to this date, many are still struggling to recover from the first typhoon, as it was followed by one after another, each one stronger than the other.
We believe it’s our duty to give back what the typhoons have taken away from them. You, too, can help these families get back on their feet by donating any amount on top of your in-store purchases at The Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf®. All your donations will provide essentials such as water, energy, food, hygiene kits and tables & chairs through the following organizations:

We’ve partnered with Waves for Water to bring filtered water to communities with no access to clean water by providing a long lasting portable filtration system that requires no electricity. The W4W MVP PointOne Filtration System may yield up to a million gallons of potable water to 5 families of at least 25 individuals for over 5 years. 50 systems can benefit an entire community of at least 1,250 individuals.
What it removes
With a removal rate of 99.99999%, at 0.1 micron absolute, it makes it impossible for any of the following to pass through:
- Bacteria which cause: Cholera, Botulism, Typhoid, Amoebic Dysentery, E.coli, Coliform Bacteria, Streptococcus, Salmonella
- Protozoan (Cyst): Giardia, Cryptosporidium, Cyclospora
Gravity-fed
The filter does not require electricity to operate—just gravity.
Long-lasting
Maintenance is simple through backwashing that allows for the filter to be used for a minimum of 5 years.

No words can describe how grateful we are for your help and support for our fellow Filipinos. We can assure you that your donation will go directly to them.
